Lake Tahoe - Part Two

This was our second visit to the Lake Tahoe area, this time staying at Summit Village, not downtown at the Marriott as before.  Believe us, this timeshare was really at the summit which gave us a great view of the mountains across the way.  For the first few days the weather was perfect, wonderful blue skies and little wind but no new snow.  Cheri and the boys had a great time the 1st day skiing but as the week went along the wind reached 70 mph and closed some of the lifts. Early in the week while the boys skied we were able to drive around the lake, take in the scenery and have our own fun in the snow.
The sun was out, the wind on this side of the lake had dropped and we found a few wonderful spots to take some great pictures, but Cheri's feet got cold running from rock to rock
So it was time for Cheri to warm up and we found a couple of slopes for some private skiing, or was Cheri's form being watched?  There are not many places where you can ski like this and Cheri just love's the experience.
So here she goes and the hardest thing is trying to find a good spot where you can catch all the action.
After some serious skiing it was time for a laugh but really it's more dangerous than you think, getting on our $9.95 plastic sledge and sliding down the hill.  Cheri felt like Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation, but at least she did not crash into a Walmart.

Cheri soon found out these round plastic things are hard to control and snow can hurt.  OUCH

So it was time to move on and find a location which was a little more tranquil but first we had to hike back to the car with the ski gear and Cheri had to get dressed.............no way, why bother.

We went back to a familiar spot on the mountain but this time the lake below us was frozen.
What a wonderful house right on the lake front.
We had a great view and could have stayed a lot longer and take it all in, but the sun was going down and it was getting a little chilly.
What a great day, such a shame the wind came up but Tony had to leave to go back to work, actually a trip to London but really our live is about quality together and we try to get as much of it as we can.

But it did allow Cheri to spend time with the kids and improve her skiing (fully clothed of course).

A few of our favorite spots - Fire & Ice inside The Marriott but be prepared for a long wait, they don't accept reservations. Another of course is The Hard Rock Cafe for a noisy dinner, Mott Canyon Tavern for a cheap burger and for a little more romantic setting The Chart House.

Now we need to come back in the summer as we heard the beaches, some clothing optional, are wonderful.
