Red Dress Party PDX

The 8th Annual Red Dress Party was the biggest, best party ever with 2,000 people in attendance, including Chelsea Clinton, our own Pashur and the great band Storm Large. This year Cheri was on the board and worked for weeks making sure the party theme, Red Sea was a huge success. All proceeds benefit Esther's Pantry, SHARE & Outside In and over the past 5 years RDP has raised over $87,000 for charities like these. Once the money has been counted and the bills paid that figure will increase to well over $100,000 this year.

Pashur, Cheri's favorite painter from Fantasy Fest flew in from Orlando a few days before the event and stayed with us, much to his liking of course. On Friday he was able to "use" Cheri to help promote his body painting skills at a local club here in town. But first it was dinner at The Gilt Club to show our appreciation to Pashur for flying so far to be part of a great weekend.

After a few hours at the club we headed to The Blue Hour one of our favorite bars in town, yes Cheri had to wear clothes but she did get the opportunity to pose for a few more pictures.

Saturday morning the board was contacted by Chelsea Clinton's "camp" letting us know that she wanted to attend to show her (and her mom's) support for the GLBT community. Out of respect for her purpose there Cheri chose not to take photos with her. The focus needed to be on her support, not partying with a "naked" lady.

The big day had arrived and everybody met at The Jupiter Hotel, one of the major sponsors of the event. Pashur soon got to work on Cheri's "red dress" in the VIP suite that was provided for the board members.

Now Cheri is ready for The Red Carpet and the official board member's photograph before leaving for the party, but there is still more organizing to do.

DJ Harmonix, DJ Gregarious & DJ Paula B played great music from 9:00 pm till 2:00 am for three dance floors, which finally led Cheri to experience the "stripper pole" on her own.

Bar is closing, the shoes are off and everybody left smiling. It was a great party thanks to New Deal Vodka, Hip Chicks Do Wine, Chameleon Restaurant & Bar, Widmer Brewing Company, Gilt Club, Zaytoon and of course The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence for making it an entertaining and special evening.
