For Christmas we decided to take a family vacation to Europe, first to Paris and then Nottingham, England, which is back home for Tony.  We were all excited to be back in one of the greatest cities in the world, except it was cold and or rainy for the four days we were there.  Using Marriott  points we stayed at the wonderful Champs-Elysee Marriott, which was good a thing as the room would have cost us 700 Euro a night.

We did not have to use the Metro as our good friend Philippe from St. Martin was in Paris and he insisted in picking us up and driving us to the hotel.  After a good afternoon nap we needed a good walk up and down the Champs-Elysee to help us recover from the jet lag.  The wind and the rain soon woke us all up.

We found the PUMA store, a Hard Rock Cafe and then a great restaurant for French cuisine.

Saturday the weather was beautiful but very cold, so the day was spent walking all over Paris.  Starting at Place Charles de Gauille to the Eiffel Tower and down the left bank of the River Seine to Notre Dame.

Sunday the weather turned nasty, a great day for a visit to The Louvre and a first look at The Mona Lisa and other terrific works of art. It's great to walk up and see the modern entrance and then the old museum in the background.

That night for another first, was to go right to the top of The Eiffel Tower.

Monday was shopping day and just walking around taking in the sights of the city.  It was too cold for Cheri to do any posing herself so we just left it up to the statues.
This really is a city you need to stay in for more than a few days, so hopefully we can get back and take our time to look around, especially when the weather is better.
