Las Vegas '06

We had to get away from the Oregon weather, it had rained for over 32 days so when we had a three day weekend we decided to head to the desert . After a quick flight to Las Vegas we checked into a lovely room at The Renaissance and we were ready to see the bright lights of Vegas and do a little sight seeing, something we very rarely do in this city.  We picked up a car at Thrifty, another thing we don't normally do but we wanted to take a drive out to see The Hoover Dam but overall the $100 we spent on the car saved us over $100 in taxi fares.  The only problem was finding parking spaces in the hotel parking lots and watching how many drinks we had.

Cheri soon found her favorite slot machine at The Hard Rock Hotel, unfortunately winning $100 did not happen, especially when it was only 25 cents a pull, so we had a couple of free drinks anyway and she did not have to go topless!

Afterwards we headed to Caesar's Palace to visit one of our favorite bars, The Shadow Bar but unfortunately Tony was not wearing a collared shirt and believe it or not they had a dress code, so we had a nightcap at The Sea Horse lounge where we found a very friendly bartender.  We wanted an early night as we had scheduled a visit the next day to see The Hoover Dam but if you have been to Vegas that very rarely happens and the city does not let you sleep.

That night we ate at The Pink Taco in The Hard Rock and our favorite bartender, Sonny was a great host.

So it was a late start for the 45 minute drive up to the dam, especially as we had to stop for a great burger at The Hard Rock Cafe.  It's well worth the drive but as we got closer you could feel the wind increasing and it was not too pleasant walking around.
The wind was that strong it blew Cheri's shirt up ... Twice!
The water level was very, very low so the river could do with some of Oregon's rain
That night we ate at The Envy, the restaurant at our hotel. The chef has a great reputation so we had to give it a try and it was well worth it.  Unbelievable presentation and great service without the background noise of a casino.
Cheri ready for dinner and later it was getting colder but even in Vegas you can't go out with just a jacket on.
The night was spent at our favorite casino, The Hard Rock Hotel, plenty of action, crowded bar and by far better music than at any other casino.  It's also the best place to people watch or be watched.
After a late night and a bit of fun the only way to recover is eat an All American breakfast at Mr. Lucky's and go shopping.  OK even Tony agrees "window shopping" at The Shops at the Forum is interesting, especially at Agent Provocateur and Victoria's Secret.

We also went by New York, New York to check on our seats for the show later this evening, an adult performance from Cirque de Soliel called  Zumanity.  Cheri wanted to ride on the roller coaster but it's not a favorite thing for Tony to do

A quick change of clothes, an appropriate Green Apple martini, a flash and we were ready for the show.
Our usher was of course dressed accordingly for this type of show
We were fortunate to get a "sofa seat" very close to the stage so we were able to watch this sexy, erotic performance in comfort.  Of course no pictures are allowed but you can go to their website and see some wonderful images.
After being slightly aroused we finished off the night at The Shadows Bar in Caesar's Palace, a lounge that gives you a feeling of being in one of the best gentlemen's club in Vegas, without being propositioned every 15 minutes for a $20 lap dance.

Sleep?  Who sleeps in Las Vegas?
