Girl's Week in Palm Springs

While Tony was in Germany at the World Cup, the girls decided they needed a little R&R too.  So it was off to Palm Springs for sunshine and spa treatments.  Since Tony was off with the camera, and is the resident "Mr. Click-it," we're a little photo short.  Besides, what happens in Palm Springs is sometimes better without photo documentation.

The Suspects

Carey -- Free Spirit, Creative, Teacher

Kris -- Bride-to-Be, Nudist, Resilient

Jen -- Strong, World Traveler, Mom

Cheri -- No words can describe me

We started off at Spa Las Palmas at the Rancho Las Palmas Marriott.  After our treatments we were off to the spa pool to relax.

With the temperature around 110 even sometimes the only place to cool off was the pool.

We would recommend Spa Las Palmas, but it closed the week after we visited.  The management is changing from the Marriott to the company that operates La Costa Resort.

After a tiring day in the sun, we headed over to The River for a late lunch.  Mako Mako has half-price sushi as long as you order more than three items per person.  The food was great and we ended up eating there several times over the week.

Is this is a photo to document The River? Or were we already missing our men?

Although we all expected a Girl's Week to be a party-and-a-half, it turned out these were the tools of the trade for the week.  A good book, sunscreen, hat, ice and a cold drink.

For our first night out we went to the Lodge at Rancho Mirage.  It has one of the best patios in the valley and from it's mountainside location you have a great view of the valley lights at night.  The night was warm and the girls were HOT!

And then it got a little crazy ...

When we weren't sunning, we were shopping.  Carey and Cheri were costume shopping for Burning Man and Fantasy Fest.

Missing our men.

There was only one night we got "out of hand" ... drinking whatever the bartender mixed at Flemings.  Kris had left with the camera so we had to settle for a disposable.

Carey didn't think we had enough to drink back a the room and she thought this would make a nice souvenir.

We can't remember what bet Carey lost, but it must have been a good one to have to "kiss the pig."

It was a fantastic time and we're planning on making it an annual event.  Next time we'll be sure to have our own camera ... and maybe even a designated photographer!  I think Tony would love to volunteer, but this is a GIRL's weekend.
