Gay
Pride Parade 2008 - Red Dress
Party Float
Father's Day is the day for
Portland's annual Gay Pride Parade; and as Cheri is
on the board for the Red Dress Party we rode their float for this fun event.
On our way to the parade we got more than few strange looks when we stopped
in Starbucks for our Sunday morning coffee. Once on-site though, it
was Bloody Mary's and Screwdrivers all around to get the party going.
Our group gets "the float" and themselves ready. We are all proud that
the Red Dress Party has raised over $122,000 for local gay-focused charities.
Cheri gets the opportunity to show off her new tattoo.
And it needs some sun protection.
We are now ready, #17 in the parade and Cheri picks her spot on the float.
Lot's of beads to throw to the crowd.
The parade was only 2 miles long and it passed so much
faster than we
anticipated. We all wanted to sneak back and do it again but the traffic
flow would not allow it. So it was decided to dismantle the float at
the warehouse and continue the fun at the Gay Pride Festival on the
Waterfront. But first Cheri had to pose on our Tony's car.
Always nice to know a bartender.
Great sunglasses.
