Fantasy Fest 2006 / Wednesday
Night and Thursday
It was really worth catching a red eye so we could enjoy the Wednesday night
fun at our fourth Fantasy Fest. We arrived in Key West earlier than
anticipated thanks to American Airlines, giving us the opportunity to enjoy
the sun and catch up with our friends at The Heron House
before hitting the party zone The Heron House is in a perfect
location, just a few blocks of Duval Street, with a pool and a clothing optional
sundeck where we relaxed before and after the festivities each day.
It was nice to get off the plane and walk into the quaint Key West
airport. All our bags arrived safely and after a quick $15 cab ride to
our hotel we were soon in our room unpacking and arranging our costumes for
the next five days. Costumes and body paint ideas had been selected for each
day (and night) so we were certainly ready for the upcoming "Red Night".
Cheri went with the school girl outfit as that got voted the best costume
for red night by our website viewers. Since we missed "Plaid Night", we
again combined
plaid with red.
We headed for our usual starting place Capt. Tony's. As soon
as we arrived Cheri and April got the attention of all the
photographers.
After a few drinks it was time to hit the street and we found that Duval was
a little more crowded than usual for a Wednesday night. A sign that the
attendance for this year could easily surpass previous years.
We captured our standard daily pose at
the Hard Rock Cafe then it was time for a HRC burger to energize us for the remainder of the night.
Tony found his first flasher.
It was back to Capt.Tony's for a refill.
The Capt. himself was pleased
to see Cheri again. Then the rum and cokes started to kick in and we knew we
were in for a late night
The bars are just a stopping off point to get away from the crowds for a
while and refill our cups We really prefer to be out on the street and
mixing with the fun crowd, especially on the early nights of Fantasy Fest.
We soon met up with our friends Lance and Libby, and Terri from two years ago
which was really nice. Then Cheri got hold of a "big one".
Harley's always draw the girls at FF and tonight was no exception. The
owners line up their bikes as they love the attention they get, the bikes, not
themselves.
Tony is always very understanding as the photographers surround Cheri.
One of our favorite places for a late night photo opportunity.
Thursday we got off to a late start but we made our appointment with Pashur
and it was just for a "quickie". This has always been a quickie day with
Playboy Bunnies and Mudflap Girl in the past so Cheri continued with the
same idea with Pussy Cats.
Pashur is happy as he knows he has to paint this canvas the next three days.
He had set up on Duval at Cheeseburger, a great location for all concerned.
Cheri in Pashur's "quickie" book.
We took a quick stop at Capt Tony's and The Bull
The photographers were out early and so were the happy flashers.
This guy had a good shot but the other one just wanted cash.
We stopped for our daily HRC photo op before meeting April back at The Heron
House to help with her costume.
April was happy to see us but Pashur was running late so we had time for
some wine and sun.
We had to wonder what Pashur was doing, but did he really need any more
advertising with these "billboards?
Cheri, April and Michele together, perhaps the three most recognized ladies
at Fantasy Fest.
Before it got dark Cheri grabbed hold of something and the girls had a laugh
about it.
Freekfest opens at 10:00 pm so we had a few more hours on Duval before we
had to go back to change for this new event at Fantasy Fest.
