The Best of 2007
Cheri made sure the New Year got off to a bang and
kept it going all the way in to New Years Day.
We also got quite a lot of snow this month, which made a nice change to
all the rain.
Cheri started to really work out.
And it is the month for Valentine's Day.
March
Spring Break was at the end of the month and instead of going to St.
Martin we decided on Lake Tahoe, which enabled the whole family to enjoy the
snow and improve on their skiing and snowboarding. Cheri surprisingly was
able to get that all over tan despite not being on Orient Beach.
April
We took our Valentine's Day weekend really late this year but we decided
to visit our favorite city, Berlin, with a day or two in Frankfurt. Of
course we visited the infamous Kit Kat Club twice and had the chance to be
more touristy this time around.
Also in April we were invited to the very interesting Red Dress
Party, where
EVERYBODY has to wear a red dress. All proceeds go to help the local
AIDS Hospices in Portland.
We needed some sunshine by the time Memorial Day weekend came and the
certainty of some heat was Palm Springs. A chance to soak up the sun
in the mountains and at one of our favorite places, The Terra Cotta Inn.
Our fourteenth anniversary and we celebrated downtown.
July was a hot month in more ways than one, it's always time for our St.
Martin vacation but due to the heat wave around the 4th we had to buy a
pool. Cheri could have cooked her traditional holiday apple pie out on the
deck and not the oven.
Our vacation to St. Martin lasted two weeks and we had a lot of fun with
MH & Anthony then Rick & April. We also met new friends Jay &
Kathleen and Todd & Shelley and because of these friends it made this SXM
vacation something very special this year.
We also had a problem with the sprinkler system which Cheri fixed of
course.
After drinking quite a few bottles of French wine in St. Martin it was
time to support our local wineries and stock our wine cellar with some
beautiful Oregon Pinot Noir.
Our deck and garden was completed, the weather stayed nice and we looked
at some real estate downtown which led to an interesting photo opportunity.
Labor Day weekend we finally were able to visit San Diego and tour the
historic Gas Lamp district and of course spend some time on Black's Beach.
Cheri took her annual hike through the Grand Canyon, this time with good
friend and "sister" MH.
Tony's birthday month and time for Fantasy Fest in Key West. A
wonderful week of fun parties and dressing up or not even dressing. This
year was something special as Cheri won first prize in the "Living Art Air
Brush Competition" on Friday night. Congratulations for some great brush
work and 4 hours on the job from Pashur.
FIRST PLACE
This month we prepare for the holidays and winter fun, first though is a
little touch up of the paintwork so the house looks good, then try on sessions to
see what the new ski gear looks like.
The Christmas tree needs decorating and keeping warm is very important.
We celebrated a great 2007 and saw in 2008 with our good friends
MH and Anthony.
It snowed for the first time in 70 years on Christmas Day.
Happy New Year
Now we are looking forward to a great 2008!
